Augusta Commit. 5-foot-11, 150 pounds. This crafty lefty had an absolutely masterful performance vs the #1 team in our Power 25. His nasty sweeping CB got whiffs all night from the top of Parkviews lineup to the bottom due to the late depth on the pitch. He was able to throw it in any count and got plenty of freezes with it as well. His tailing low-mid 80’s FB was consistently located on the glove side edge, and he was able to use two distinctly different breaking balls vs both sides hitters. His SL paired very well with his tailing FB, which canceled any plans for hitters to sit on the CB. The SL is a strictly lateral pitch, where the CB starts off that way but ends with depth. The versatility in his repertoire had many good bats off balance, and this was the perfect guy to throw against a powerful lineup. Not only did he dominate on the hill, he had 1 of the Dawgs 2 total hits, a moonshot over the tall RF wall. If NG wins this game, Zoeller is easily the MVP.
