Uncommitted. 5-foot-9, 165 pounds. This is a very well rounded athlete who had an impressive showing in front of our evaluators at Preseason All-State, and only continued that momentum in our first look at the Wolves in 2023. With multiple barrels and 3 QAB’s against one of the better arms in the area, the power production is much larger than his current frame would suggest. He is very lean muscled, but there’s not much mass yet. I only look at that as a positive, as he’s already sending balls to the gap on a consistent basis with impressive backspin. The leverage he creates from the ground up in a crouched stance with well sequenced mechanics is eye opening, and he’s able to create plenty of lift from it without collapsing the lower half. This is a backside dominant hitter with an extremely simplified forward move, which allows his head to stay completely still throughout the swing while creating optimal explosiveness. He repeats launch position well and is able to adjust barrel angle in all quadrants of the zone. The next step as a hitter for Clark will come in the form of strength gains, as he already has a very well sequenced swing and impressive timing.
