vs Xavier: The scrimmage’s main attraction for the scouting industry was small college transfer Logan Martin. The strong-armed right-hander from The University of the South (Sewanee, Ga.) touched 96, while sitting 94-95 from a three-quarter slot. His lower release point combined with spin rates in the 2400s gave some ride to his heater making it effective up in the zone. He also mixed in a usable low-80s slider that may not have been his best due to his side of the ball release, as opposed to pressuring through the top of the ball to create the spin. He flashed an 83-84 mph changeup, but slowed his hand prior to release.
