Hodges was on the barrel all week over the course of the 17u National Championship. At the plate showing an advanced approach, displaying a short compact swing with fast hands through the zone. Presented a gap-to-gap approach with power to all-fields coupled with excellent barrel control. Consistently posting 90+ MPH exit velocities, highlighting the compact strength as there is real impact in the barrel for this uncommitted bat. An athletic defender with present arm strength that showed off the range picking up a key unassisted double-play on Sunday afternoon.
Uncommitted. Hodges was a player that really made an impact for Mt. Paran as a sophomore last year, and carried that momentum into the summer. He found his power at the plate over the summer blasting multiple wood bat home runs. The game play at 3B on Monday night was really impressive. He had multiple unassisted double plays, showing off the strong arm after getting the force at 3B. He had a really consistent day at the plate with multiple barrels, The strength is to the pull side, but sticks to his approach and does not try to do too much.

Hit: RHH. Slightly closed stance. Mid-high leg lift, handsy. Occasional lift in the swing with some carry. Present strength at the plate. 64.5 mph bat speed with 20 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 86.2 mph. 327' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-82 mph. Shorter arm, developing strength.
Defense: Moves well up the middle, clean and fluid actions.
ATH: 1.82 and 4.17 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 25.90 max vertical.
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Hodges is a right handed bat that I really Liked this weekend. He had a big game on day 3 of the PBR Showdown. He had 2 hits with one being an opposite field double. Hodges has a nice smooth/rotational swing through the zone. In his first AB he does a nice job of keeping his hands loaded and keeping his weight back on a BB. He keeps his hands and hips engaged through his swing. Hodges has some sneaky gap to gap power to get his extra base hits. Defensively he plays a solid 3B as well. Making every play that comes his way.
