Kirkwood CC commit. The strong built righty used a 84-86 mph FB that had some natural cut too it. Topped at 88 mph. CB was thrown hard with good intent that showed 11/5 shape. Lyman competed really well on the mound. Showed 2-way potential with the bat. Bat speed is elite, has been recorded at near 81 mph in a pervious showcase. Looks too drive the ball pull-side with uphill contact. Should be a prospect to keep tabs on in the JC ranks.
Kicked off his weekend on the mound for the Iowa Sticks Kaufman on Saturday afternoon. The strong built righty used a 84-86 mph FB that had some natural cut too it. CB was thrown hard with good intent that showed 11/5 shape. Lyman competed really well on the mound and was always getting in good pitching counts, using the FB on both sides of the plate. Follow 2022 arm.
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-2, 210-pounds. Athletic, physical build.
Defense: RH. INF - 88 mph. Athletic actions, clean glove, above average arm from short high-¾ slot, stays low with raw footwork. Solid carry and accuracy across the infield.
Hit: RHH. Tall balanced stance, leg kick load. Aggressive uphill swing, looks to elevate. Shows consistent above average pull/middle of the field power. Solid extension through the zone with bat speed.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Above average bat speed.
Run: 7.18 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Uptempo rocker delivery, athletic balance point, solid direction down the mound with use of his lower half.
Arm Action: RH. Short clean arm action from a high-¾ slot.
FB: T89, 86-89 mph. Heavy action for strikes.
CB: 71-74 mph. Sharp 12/6 break around the zone.
SL: 79-80 mph. Tight 11/5 spin with slight cut action.
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds.
Defense: INF - 85 mph. Clean arm action with quickness, hands are sure, raw footwork to field.
Hit: Open stance, leg kick trigger to square, shows good bat speed, inconsistent barrels during bp but when squared shows above avg. pop in bat.
Power: 93 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.25 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Athletic delivery, sequences hands and body well, longer stride, solid use of lower half.
Arm Action: Clean compact arm action with flashes of hand speed out front.
FB: T86, 85-86 mph. Straight, occasional downhill plane, strikes.
CB: 73-75 mph. Tight shape with 12/6 break.
CH: 80-81 mph. Decent feel for zone with straight action.
