Uncommitted. Projectable 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame. Started the game as the DH and hit out of the six-hole. Came out of the pen in relief. Plessa showed some impressive stuff in his inning of work on Tuesday. The right-hander operates from a tall/fall approach with a high leg lift. Long, clean arm action with good extension from a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 81-82 with straight actions. Mixed in a curveball that sat 65-66 with late actions. Intriguing 2027 arm to keep an eye on.

Displaying a lanky 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame, Plessa was impressive on the mound today for the Illinois Gators. The righty threw the full seven innings giving up no runs and only allowed two hits with nine strikeouts. Mechanically, Plessa is tall on the mound with a slight knee bend and a long stride toward the right-handed batter’s box. He fully extends his arm in his windup while keeping all his weight on his back leg. He throws with a 3/4 arm slot and keeps his mechanics the same for his fastball and slider making it difficult for the batter to pick up. Plessa’s fastball was thrown 78-80 mph, pounding it arm and glove side. His curveball was sharp with a lot of drop to it and had hitter’s off balance all day.
