'25 RHP/SS Adler Holtz (Valparaiso HS) was another prospect that has seriously elevated his game this offseason. Holtz improved his fastball from 77-80 mph at last summer's Northwest Indiana Open, now sitting 84-87, touching 88 mph. The proportional, 6-foot-2, 195 pound right-hander works with little effort from an over-the-top slot to create downhill angle on a riding fastball (16"+ IVB). I really liked how easy the delivery was, allowing him to fill the zone consistently with all three of his offerings. The fastball is certainly his best pitch, but he also showed an 11/5 shaped curveball with depth at 71-72 mph, and flashed a changeup at 73-75 mph. I like Adler as an arm more than as a bat, but he did show some two-way prowess as a physical infielder with plenty of arm strength (89 mph across) and solid bat strength (96 mph exit velocity).

Positional Profile: SS/RHP

Hit: RHH. Sets up in a tall stance & uses a short, simple stride with a small load of the hands - hands load up & back to get into a strong hitting position at heel strike. Has some whip in the barrel - path works slightly uphill to match plane. Shows gap-to-gap strength.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 85.0 mph. 323' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-86 mph. Long arm action from an over-the-top arm slot - good arm strength.
Defense: Fundamental actions. Consistent footwork that plays through the baseball. Soft hands - shows feel to play with one-hand. Exchanges are quick & clean. Playable actions that should translate to gameplay, likely 3B long-term.
