+ Aiden Phillips, SS, Homestead: Homestead continues to churn out prospects and Phillips is the latest 'pop-up' to come from that program. It is a premier frame at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds with a solid set of tools including: a 101.1 mph exit velocity max, an 86 arm across the infield, and a 7.09 60-time. This swing is aggressive and rotational with pull-side intent and he averaged 90-plus throughout his round. The hands are soft on the infield with above average actions in total and he will be followed closely this spring for the #9 ranked Spartans.

Hit: RHH. Crouched stance with even weight distribution, hands setup low and close to the body. Short load followed by a big hover stride getting hip separation. Hands very active in load and swing. Weight does have tendency to lunge forward onto front foot with stride. Strong, ahtletic swing mechanics. Hands and lower body very involved in swing. Abv/avg bat speed with quick hands. 70.4 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 75.9 mph. 290' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Short, quick arm action from a 3/4 slot. Can drop down when needed.
Defense: Athletic, swift mover for size. Very confident in hands, comfortable ball to hand exchange with polished lower half mechanics during delivery to 1B.
