Loses front side resistance as front flies open. Barrel will crank and tilt slightly on backside start. Line drive hitter type swing. Smith showed good footwork and body control on defense. Takes ball out of glove on transfer early and to the side with long backside to throw. Has a good accurate arm and strength to throws. Ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. Alert player. 

Alex Smith: SS/2B, (2022) Carroll High School, IN. 6-foot-1, 180-pound projectable frame. At the plate, Smith's 89 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. Track Man Exit Velo 90.97. Starts in an athletic stance with a high load, then uses a leg kick. Has Short swing plane and has good extension on his finish. Created a lot loud contact during the round. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 82 mph; shows rhythmic athletic feet, Soft hands and a clean exchange. When fielding he gathers the ball out front. Showed Short swing arm action with a high ¾ slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.5.

Starts in an open batting stance with his knees bent, his hands high and his bat flat with his elbows in; uses leg kick to generate power; uses a slight bat tilt to stay on top of the ball. Stays inside the ball well; stays balanced throughout his swing; consistently hit line drives all over the field; 79 mph exit velocity. In the field, shows smooth glove work when he gets into position; sometimes fields the ball deep but fields all balls cleanly; 3/4 arm action; makes accurate throws; 73 mph position velocity. Recorded a 60 time of 7.55.
