Roncalli High School, Class of 2022; 5-foot-10, 170-pound C/OF. At the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 76 mph. Starts in a balanced, slightly bent setup; had a small load and a level bat path. While catching, he produced a pop time of 2.32; his most efficient throw to second came in at 66 mph. Had a tall setup with staggered feet. His exchange and feet were consistent. Sometimes falls off towards third base. He clocked a 60 time of 8.51 at the event.
6/26/18: 2022 catching prospect hits from the right side. Open athletic setup in the box. Uses leg lift with weight back as trigger. Hands showed hitch, started high then drop to bat path point in choppy rhythm. Needs to be more fluid throughout swing. Showed good quick bat for age, posted an average exit velo of 76. Bat path is uphill through the zone and showed he could back spin the baseball to gaps. As a catcher does not receive properly yet. Thumb always needs to be under the baseball when receiving not to the side. Exchange on pops are very long with a long arm action. Arm strength is average for catcher his age at 60. Pops ranged from 2.51-2.64.
