'27 RHP Charlie Conyers (Floyd Central) showed one of the firmest fastballs we've seen of any freshman in the state at the Southern Indiana Preseason ID. Conyers is an interesting prospect, a high-intent, high-effort mover that sequences well within the delivery and has very quick arm speed. His fastball worked at 85-87 mph, with carry properties (20.2" IVB average). His best offspeed pitch is his 71-75 mph slider, a pitch that flashes late bite and holds upside. His overall command is spotty, but he does show flashes of the ability to command the zone. Conyers will be a fun follow over the next four years, with upside as a future-power righty.
