A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball

Vertical Jump
A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
One of the premier bats in the class with a toolset that continues to evolve. The 6-foot-2 frame holds premier projections and his 6.77 60-yard dash adds to it. Shines most at the dish, switch-hitter with a silky left-handed swing. Shows the ability to use all fields with budding pull-side power along with some backside gap feel. High back elbow slots to create on-plane swing (LH) with hovering, controlled stride and loose-wristed swing. Slight drift from (RH) swing, bat works on a direct path with some pull-side feel to backspin. Exits peaked at 96+ with more juice on the way as he continues to mature into more strength. Arm is an above average tool (87 OF). Plenty to dream on with present skills and tools across the board, one of my more bullish follows as we approach the recuiting period for this 27 class.

Bucher is a pick-to-click amongst this group with a high-waisted, athletic, 6-foot-2, 180 pound look. He switch hits with a pure lefty stroke that has some natural lift to the path, while the right-handed swing works more short & flatter. He shows some bat speed with power projections as he fills out his frame & exits already at 96-plus. His arm is a solid tool (87) as is the run time (6.99). Walking away - Bucher was one of my favorites of the event & a bat I will see early and often this spring/summer

Clark Bucher, Hamilton Southeastern High School (IN), 2027 Positional Profile: OF/OF Body: 6-1, 145-pounds. Lean build with strong projectability. Long, high-waisted frame. Hit: SH. (L) - Taller setup. High handset with tall back elbow. Toe Tap stride allows for quality weight control in the forward move. Works behind the baseball, bat works on ideal path. High Follow (R) - Similiar to right-side, little more stiffness. Bat works more on a direct path from right, tends to overspin. Hands are quicker from right Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 80.6 mph. 300' max distance. Arm: LH. OF-78 mph. Compact, quick arm action from an over the top slot. Defense: Quick mover with ability to get behind the ball. Moderate ball to hand skills with a confident glove. ATH: 7.27 runner in the 60.

Clark Bucher, Hamilton Southeastern (IN), 2027 Positional Profile: OF/1B Body: 6-0, 138-pounds. Lean, projectable build Hit: SH. (LH) - Starts balanced, uses a toe-tap stride paired with a smaller hand load. Loose, well-sequenced swing works slightly uphill w/ line drive contact from g2g. (RH) - Starts tall & balanced, uses a toe-tap stride w/ quiet hand load. Path works direct, steep at times, with swing geared towards line drive contact. Like the actions from both sides, added strength will pay major dividends. Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 70.5 mph. 309' max distance. Arm: RH. OF-77 mph. Shorter arm action works from over the top Defense: Athletic mover works downhill, fields the ball out front with sure glove actions, works thru the baseball, exchanges naturally. ATH: 7.48 runner in the 60.

Clark Bucher, Hamilton Southeastern (IN), 2027 Positional Profile: OF/1B Body: 5-11, 130-pounds. Lean, projectable build Hit: SH. (RH) - Starts in a tall stance with high back elbow. Short, simple stride paired with a quiet hand load. Bat works short & direct to the baseball, path works level through the hitting zone. Works to the top of the ball to create low line drive contact. (LH) - Tall, slightly open setup with a high back elbow. Short stride with a quiet hand load. Barrel works slightly uphill to match plane, gets to extension. (Overall) - LH swing is a bit more advanced than RH at this time. Interesting '27 follow - strength gains will pay dividends. Power: 79 max exit velocity, averaged 69.2 mph. 272' max distance. Arm: RH. OF-67 mph. Longer arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot. Defense: Feet work under control during the approach. Developing hands, exchanges quickly. ATH: 7.90 runner in the 60.
