‘28 RHP Dylan Chism (Norwell HS) showed well once again after standing out during our winter Preseason ID series. Chism boasts a stocky, 6-foot, 180 pound frame. He lifts to a moderate balance point with a slight inward turn before working down the slope with a simple, shorter stride. The arm action is very short and deceptive, coming from a H 3/4 slot with some effort. Chism sat 84-86.3 mph on his fastball throughout, showing carry through the zone with 17.6" of IVB. He showed solid control, working to both sides of the plate effectively. He spun two breaking balls — a 72-74 mph slider with sweep, and a 68-70 mph curveball that offered more depth. The young righty logged 31.1 innings as a freshman on a 3A sectional championship team, posting a strong 1.56 ERA. Chism remains a solid follow in the class, showing raw arm strength, solid spin, and early varsity success.

+ '28 RHP Dylan Chism (Norwell) brought an interesting look in his bullpen with really solid fastball velocities for this young freshman class. A stocky, 6-foot, 180 pounder - Chism used a slower-tempo delivery with a shorter lift and high hand break. The arm action is super short, almost catcher-like, with a deceptive slot at release as the ball appears to come out from just outside of his right ear. His fastball jumped out with evident arm strength, sitting 82-85 and touching 86 on his best bullet. He got around his 69-71 mph breaking ball on occasion, though he flashed the ability to stay though it & it showed sweeper shape in these instances. The changeup was shown, but it still in the development stages at this point. Chism is a no-doubt follow for this class with some of the better raw arm strength we've identified in the class thus far.
