Another top-ranked arm in the freshman class, Markus took a break from the hardwood to toss a low-effort bullpen with his fastball working at 82-84 mph. Looking the part of a future-starter, Markus is a twitchy mover with athleticism in his 6-foot-2, 160 pound frame. Markus has ample room for added strength, which will allow the fastball velocity to sky-rocket, and his arm works quick and freely to a 3/4 arm angle. Markus spins one of the best breaking balls in the class, a tight, 72-73 mph curveball that shows two-plane shape. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a 75-77 mph changeup.

Body: 6-0, 140-pounds. Wiry, athletic build
Hit: RHH. Balanced, athletic setup. Short leg lift w/ a smaller hand load. Simple stride forward. Loose, level swing w/ a middle of the field approach. Line drive type hitter.

Arm: RH. INF-79 mph.Loose, quick arm from a H 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic footwork w/ a quick exchange. Soft hands w/ some lateral quickness.

Delivery: Consistent tempo throughout w/ some effort. Taller balance point w/ a drop and drive delivery. Shoulders land slightly open. Tons of upside as he matures.

FB: T82, 80-82 mph. Solid FB command, some ASR T1902, 1687 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. Flashes sharp action, inconsistent command - potential T1878, 1772 average rpm.
SL: 69-69 mph. Very simliar to CB - sharp at times T1895, 1849 average rpm.
