Started in a athletic stance with a small load, then used a short stride before his swing. Displays quick bat speed, as well as a level swing plane and a high finish. He found lots of barrels in his round. Line drive approach. He showed above average arm strength as his throws to second reached velocities of 77 mph; had firm hands, athletic footwork and a clean exchange. While catching, he produced a pop time of 2.04-2.14; Showed an-over-the-top slot and a short arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he recorded a time of 7.1.
Strong, athletic build. 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Balanced setup, smooth load, short stride with a leg lift. Quick hands, short, level path through the zone, clear juice in his swing, looks the part. Defensively, presents the ball well, soft block, vocal behind the plate. Went 2-for-3 against 29ers baseball as the cleanup hitter with a double and two RBIs. Interesting follow in the Indiana 2021 class.
6-foot-2, 185-pound C with a pop time of 2.06-2.11. Starts in an open batting stance with a slight knee bend and a high elbow; keeps bat flat behind his head. During swing, uses movement in his hands to create rhythm; has a level swing path; gets off his back foot very well to generate power; has quick hands and is balanced throughout his swing; 89 mph exit velocity. Behind the plate, has a clean transfer and short arm action; shows a lot of athleticism; throws each ball with accuracy; 74 mph position velocity. Appears to be a very polished catcher at this point in his career. Recorded a 60 time of 7.43.
2/23/2019: Jaden Deel, C/1B, Hobart HS, 2021, 6 foot 2, 185 pounds, starts slightly open and uses controlled leg lift to load from the right side. Bat path is flat through the zone, barrel is a little flat at launch position. Recorded a max exit velo of 88 mph, and ran a 7.44 60. Behind the plate, Jaden has good body control and a good frame to project as a catcher, and recorded pop times of 2.06-2.11 and threw 76 from the crouch.
2/24/18: 6-foot-1, 173 pound catcher showcased pop times between 2.12-2.25. Short, fluid footwork. Comes out of the crouch high. Short arm swing, clean high 3/4 slot. Average arm strength. Hits from a tall, open setup. Hands load back. Level path to contact. Average bat speed. High contact to all fields. Fair balance. High exit velocity of 84.
