At the plate, uses bat tilt to create a level swing plane and a leg kick to generate power; has a straight to the ball swing plane and a high, one-handed finish; showed ability to barrel up balls; 85 mph exit velocity. Moves to balls well in the field; has quick lateral movements; glove works well when he's in good position; showed efficient, accurate throws; 80 mph position velocity. On the mound, has a slow motion; shifts his weight back to help generate power; 3/4 arm slot; 76-79 mph FB. Has nice depth on off-speed pitches; stays on top of off-speed well; locates low in the zone; 65-66 mph CB; 69-70 mph CH; 70-73 mph SL. Kept hitters off-balance with his off-speed; threw all pitches for strikes; showed pitch ability. Recorded a 60 time of 7.48.
2/23/2019: Kyler McIntosh, RHP/SS, Columbus North HS, 2021, 6 foot, 160 pounds, works from a mid ¾ slot and medium arm action. FB sat 78-80 with more in the tank, CB had good downer shape and sat 67-70, SL was flat and sat 67-69, CH had good sink and sat 70-72. With frame, arm speed and arm action, Kyler should be a guy that will throw harder in the next few years with added strength. At the plate Kyler starts slightly open and uses a leg lift to load. Hands are back early and contact is out front. Had an exit velo of 88 mph. Kyler threw 79 mph across the infield with a slow release and average feet.
