At the plate, starts stance with weight on his front foot; slowly moves back, shifting his weight to his back leg; raises his hands slightly during load. Has a straight to the ball swing path; uses his entire body to generate power and line drives; 88 mph position velocity. At catcher, has a clean transfer; gains lots of ground; short arm action; 77 mph position velocity. Getting slightly less ground may result in more accurate throws. Recorded a 60 time of 7.36.
2/16/2019: Parker Gryskevich, C/OF, Brownsburg HS, 2020, 5 foot 10, 190 pounds, has a balanced set up and load to get to a launch position with slightly low hands, sometimes causing him to topspin balls or get out front early. Does have bat speed, and posted a 90 mph exit velocity.
6/12/18: 2020 catching prospect with good athletic build. Hits from right side simple set up and approach. Bat is short and quick through the zone and creates good leverage in swing. Showed ability to use whole field with gap to gap potential. Behind the dish low wide set up. Exchange is quick but arm action is somewhat long. Throws are accurate to the bag and pops were in 1.98-2.19 range.
6/13/17: The 5-foot-10, 178 pound catcher has a simple setup with fast bat speed in the batters box. Long, slightly uphill swing. Creates hard contact with some lift. Plus power potential. Defensively, funnels the transfer into slightly long arm action. Feet are fluid, gets squared. Throws topped at 72 with pop times ranging between 2.22-2.3.
