Futterknecht is a 5-foot-11 inch, 160 pound junior. On the mound he throws from a high three quarter arm slot. His arm action is quick producing a fastball at 79-80 mph, touching 82. He throws a 71-72 mph changeup with some fade. Futternecht shows two breaking balls, a 69-72 mph curveball and a 70-71 mph split. With continued growth expect a jump in velocity this spring.
Futterknecht is a long legged 5-foot-10 inch LHP/OF. From the outfield he touches 83 with plus actions. On the mound is where Futternknecht is most impressive. He has a quick arm with an average delivery. He easily sits at 79-82, but as he continues to grow into his body, it is easy to project more velocity. His 67-70 mph change up shows good fade.
