Strong, thick, condensed look body strength. Power full legs and shoulders. Displays a slow, methodical rhythm type tempo to his delivery. Starts from the middle of rubber with a slight short side step turn. Glove position is started from up in front of his face, followed by a mid-belt hand pump. Has short compact stab back with ball, to a ¾-arm slot. Short backside and lays ball in hand back to launch. Has a stand up finish out front with a lift out of landing. FB is accurate. Slow spinning CB hits its mark. Changeup has small fade and dip in zone. FB 82-84, CH 66-69, CH 70-72. As a position player Ballentine stance to hit starts with spread out base, pinched in knees, while hands start up by his right ear high. Shows good hand load with barrel. His bat path and bat speed has small deceleration to contact to ball; although hard contact made, he needs to improve his barrel continuation to maximize his strength. LD hitter with short extension to swing. Good overall athlete.
Robert Ballentine: SS/RHP, (2022) Andrean, IN. 6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 94 mph, showing some strength. Wide setup, minimal stride. Smooth load back, level swing path, line drive approach, mostly pull-side. In the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 87 mph. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used an-over-the-top slot and a short arm action. Feet move well. Recorded a time of 7.24 in the 60-yard dash. Fluid on the mound, had an over-the-top arm angle and a short arm action with good arm speed. Feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. In his delivery his balance point is tall with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Changeup (72-76 mph).Threw his fastball 81-82 mph and topped out at 83 mph; had slight action. Threw his 1/7 curveball (66-69) with decent control.
