On Sunday, RHP Sam Hays (Munster, IN, 2024) provided an upside look out of the ‘pen for Elite Baseball Training. Listed at a long 6-foot-1, 170-pounds, Hays is a controlled mover on the bump, working in-line to home with a controlled finish. In his outing, Hays ran his fastball up to 85 mph, while sitting in the lower-80s throughout and it spun at over 2,400 RPM on average. His spin traits carried over to his low-70s breaking ball, as that averaged over 2,700 RPM and played with sharp 11/5 action.

Defense: (IF) Soft hands, athletic rhythmic footwork, fluid exchange. Projectable.
Arm: 73 mph infield velocity. Short quick arm action, high ¾ slot.
Speed: 7.64 (60-yard).
