Stride is short, above average use of the lower half. Good balance throughout the swing. Showcased quick bat speed, short level path. Strong bat and works gap-to-gap. High exit velocity of 87 mph. Behind the dish showcased average hands with a clean exchange. Short, over-the-top arm action, 73 mph from the crouch. 2.12-2.27 pop times. Showcased natural feel in the outfield with average arm strength, 81 mph. Ran 6.87 60.
6/12/18: 2020 right handed hitting catcher, open tall setup in the box. Big leg lift used as trigger, tended to over stride to contact point causing him to dive into the baseball. Bat path was level through the zone with a high finish. Showed line drive ability pull side and oppo. Behind the dish showed average footwork and a long exchange, arm strength is average and pops ranged in the 2.09-2.18 range.
1.15.18 - 5-foot-11, 170-pound catcher, lean athletic frame. 7.07 runner in the 60. Arm played with length from an over the top slot, 70 mph out of the crouch. 2.25-2.30 pop times, moved well to block and recover. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, hands drop into load, leg kick stride. Flashed some pop in BP, creates bat speed, long uphill path. 85 mph exit velocity from the tee.
10.14.17: 60 Time: 6.98, Position Velocity: C-70, Exit Velocity: 83. 5-foot-11, 170 pound sophomore catcher uses aggressive intent and approach from the right side of the plate, producing average bat speed with lift gap to gap. Mixed leg lift with toe tap to load throughout BP rounds, big gather and long stride onto the front side to swing. Small arm bar with front shoulder out early, active lower half. Inconsistent finish and feet. Showed some twitch, plus runner for position and age. Behind the plate, athletic feet with long arm action to throw. Plays low, uses lower half well. More arm strength to gain. Pop times were 2.15-2.22 with below average carry. Transfer is clean and fluid, 1 hand catch.
