Andrew Broshears is a 2027 RHP/SS with a lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame. On the mound, he’s a loose, clean mover with a fastball that sits 79–83 mph (T84) and shows carry through the zone (T2539 rpm). He mixes a 71–72 mph curveball with some depth, a sharper 72 mph slider that holds swing-and-miss upside, and a 76 mph changeup with feel and fade. Defensively, Broshears is a fundamental shortstop with a 79 mph infield arm and sound actions. Offensively, he hits from an athletic base with a handsy stroke that produced an 89 mph max exit velocity and 312’ max distance. Broshears is an upside, athletic follow in the class.

+ '27 RHP Andrew Broshears (Evansville Memorial) threw my favorite 'pen of the day. Athletic at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds - Broshears peppered the strike zone one pitch after another with a low ease of operation and an arm that works clean on the backside. The fastball works in the low-80's (T 83) presently, but plays with high spin and nearly 18" of IVB, on average. The heater will certaintly louden w/ strength gains and is complemented by an innate feel for spin. Showing two distinct breaking balls, Broshears flipped over both a mid-70's slider and low-70's curveball, both with unique shape, and both spinning north of 2200 on a regular basis. Broshears showed a mid-70's change as a usable fourth to round out a future-starters' mix. While I see more of him as an arm, his 7.06 60 and athletic moves at short and in the box only reaffirms his athleticism.
