A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

+ '26 UTL/RHP Drake Goodpaster (Trinity Lutheran) performed well throughout the day. Offering a more physical and athletic look than seen previously, listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Goodpaster showed a solid left-handed hit tool in batting practice with several well-struck balls through the middle. The swing works on-plane with above average bat speed behind it, reaching a peak exit velocity of 92.2 mph at this event. He showed above average defensive actions in both the outfield and infield with above average arm strength throughout (85 infield, 87 outfield). Goodpaster also threw a well-commanded bullpen with an 81-84 mph fastball that played with carry, also showing feel to manipulate his breaking ball shape.
