6/27/17 - Paxton is a 6-foot-3 202 pound left-handed hitting first baseman and LHP in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.33 laser timed 60 and a 4.52 home-to-first. At the plate, Paxton displayed a 84 mph exit velo, compact stroke, athletic stance, smooth and repeatable swing, quiet hands while showing plate discipline in game action. Defensively at first base, he showed good range, accurate throws and a positional velo of 79 mph. On the mound, Paxton shows a choppy but repeatable delivery, OT arm slot and good direction down the mound. His fastball was well located to both sides of the plate between 71-74 mph. Paxton’s curveball was 62-63 mph with gradual 12-to-6 action.
