11/4/17 - Paxton is a physical 6-foot-4 210-pound left-handed hitting first-baseman and left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  He ran a 7.26 60 and a 4.28 home to first.  He has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts loaded in back leg, short stride, quiet hands, middle of the field approach.  At first base, 81 mph positional velo, quick to the ball, over the top release, loose arm action, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Paxton worked 77-79 mph with fastball, high number of strikes, occasional late cutting action, showed command of breaking ball, 2-to-8 shape, flashed depth and late action, change up at 59-61 mph, near fastball arm speed, over the top release, controlled tempo, in line down the mound, works from the middle of the rubber, has some downhill tilt.

6/27/17 - Paxton is a 6-foot-3 202 pound left-handed hitting first baseman and LHP in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.33 laser timed 60 and a 4.52 home-to-first. At the plate, Paxton displayed a 84 mph exit velo, compact stroke, athletic stance, smooth and repeatable swing, quiet hands while showing plate discipline in game action. Defensively at first base, he showed good range, accurate throws and a positional velo of 79 mph. On the mound, Paxton shows a choppy but repeatable delivery, OT arm slot and good direction down the mound. His fastball was well located to both sides of the plate between 71-74 mph. Paxton’s curveball was 62-63 mph with gradual 12-to-6 action.
