7/5/17 - Engle is a strong 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  He ran a 7.32 60 and has an 82 mph exit velo. At the plate, starts open, strides in line, body stays under control, hard contact to the pull side in hitting evaluations, repeats swing.  On the infield, 82 mph positional velo, over the top release, athletic footwork to the ball, fields the ball out front, clean transfer, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws, flashing carry. On the mound, Engle is athletic and strong, short over the top arm action, aggressive tempo, works in line down the mound, loose arm action with more in the tank, fastball jumps out of hand, heavy, 80-82 mph, shows command to both sides of plate, curveball is shape at times, 12-to-6 action, controllable, change up at 62-65 mph, near fastball arm speed.

10/30/16 - Engle is a 6-foot-1 60-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  He ran a 7.27 60 and a 4.50 home-to-first.  He has an 82 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced stance, controlled load with reverse toe tap, slightly closed stride, showed ability to go the other way, hands work inside the ball, short path to contact.  On the infield, 81 mph positional velo, one of the top infield velos of the event, over the top release, fields ball in athletic position, momentum after catch with fluid footwork, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Engle has a slender frame, over the top release, in line stride, controlled leg lift with slight pause at the top of lift, fastball at 79-80 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, late action, has some deception, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 68-72 mph, throws strikes.
