10/20/18 - 10/20/18 – Basler has a slender frame and athletic build at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds and is a right-handed hitting middle infielder in Kansas’ 2021 recruiting class. At the event he ran a 7.25 second 60 yard dash, 4.70 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 83 mph. During batting practice, Basler starts with an open stance, abbreviated leg lift into load, quiet hands, showed feel for the barrel, hard contact with a gap-to-gap approach. Defensively, Basler has good actions on the infield, quick to the baseball, shows off athleticism, strong arm, positional velocity of 82 mph, very accurate throws.
7/5/17 - Basler is a 5-foot-7 130-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 7.58 60 and has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, slightly closed stride, swing produced middle to opposite field line drives, some load in the hands, hands create bat whip, quick bat speed. On the infield, 70 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork to the ball, fields ball in position ready to throw, mostly accurate throws.
