8/9/15 - Holen is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2016 class, recently committed to Iowa Western.  Holen ran an 8.06 60 and had an exit velo of 85 mph.  Loads with lower half and hands in an athletic stance, used the whole field during batting practice, line drives gap-to-gap, solid consistent contact.  During defensive evaluations, 2.12 to 2.19 pop times, 73 mph positional velo, quick exchange and release, loose over-the-top arm action, mostly accurate throws, throwing momentum towards second base.

8/5/15 - Holen is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher, recently committed to Iowa Western CC.  Holen had an 84 mph exit velo and ran an 8.00 60.  During batting practice, he had loose hands and feel for the barrel, starts slightly open, some hand load, gap-to-gap approach.  Defensively, high three quarters release, quick release, momentum towards second base, clean exchange and quick footwork, 2.00 to 2.19 pop times, among top for the event, 80 mph positional velo, throws to first base base of bag.

2/6/15 - Holen is a thin, athletic-framed 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-hand hitting catcher. Attends Manhattan HS in Manhattan, KS. Class of 2016. At the plate athletic set-up, reverse toe tap, gets stride foot down early, rhythm in load, short path. Short, compact swing with some lift, maintains balance throughout. Barreled ball up during batting practice round. Recorded an 84 mph exit velocity, ran a 4.71 home-to-first.  Quick footwork behind the plate, clean exchanges, quick high three-quarters arm action, top throw to second clocked at 1.99, throwing velocity 76 mph, mostly accurate throws. Solid class of 2016 catching prospect with plenty of room to fill out physically.

11/2/14 - Holen is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-hand hitting catcher. Balanced set-up at the plate, open stance, early stride/load, short bat path, lower half in sync with upper, maintains balance throughout. Simple line-drive swing, middle-oppo approach, exit velocity 77 mph. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Behind the plate showed quick footwork, quick exchanges, short three-quarters arm action, throwing velocity up to 75 mph, throws had good carry, pop times in the 2.00-2.11 range, accurate throws. Showed quick, athletic actions behind the plate and still has a way to go before filling out physically.
