Summer 2020: Guys who can run always attract my attention and with a pair of bunt base hits clocked at 3.74 and 3.75 to first base Seng did just that. With little power and just three extra base hits in 104 plate appearances this summer, Seng’s game is built upon the run and defend game. He’s a 70-runner who also has very good quickness and confidence in his legs, putting pressure on the defense every time he’s on the base paths. Playing center field, Seng tracks down balls gap-to-gap, routinely taking away hits from the opposition. In the batter’s box he doesn’t like the breaking ball and will chase the heater upstairs (29% strikeout rate this summer), but he’s put together a solid season offensively with a .247 batting average and 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts. With lower exit velocities, an even greater commitment to the short game and hitting the ball on the ground may benefit Seng. As a part of a loaded Louisville outfield for the upcoming season, he will have a hard time cracking the starting lineup, but his speed and defense give him valuable assets off the bench to contribute to one of the premier programs in the country.
