5-foot-6, 160-pound. Capable during batting practice, Muto recorded an exit velocity of 79 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was average, used a short swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average while in the infield, made throws up to 79 mph; shows soft hands, rhythmic feet, and a clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a ¾ slot with a quick arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Recorded a 60 time of 7.51 at the event. Above average on the mound, showed a ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action with quick arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows high effort. Lands square with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 75-76 mph and topped out at 77 mph; has consistent command. Has a 11/5 curveball (65-68) that shows consistent command and late action.
