Hit: (RHH) Athletic smooth. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a leg kick. Explosive bat speed. Level finish, level swing. Gap to gap approach.
Power: 94 mph exit velocity, average 77.22 mph. 74.59 mph bat speed average. 21.51 mph hand speed average.
Defense: (IF) Soft hands, smooth athletic footwork, quick exchange. Advanced. (OF) Soft hands, athletic footwork, clean exchange. Athletic. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front.
Arm: 80 mph infield velocity. 79 mph outfield velocity. Quick arm action, ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.
Speed: 7.02 (60-yard).
5-foot-10, 175-pound athletic frame. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.15. Starts in an open stance with a smooth load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed is quick, displays loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Aggressive approach. Barnes 89 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. Athletic in the infield, displayed a velocity of 82 mph; had a packing exchange, athletic fluid footwork and soft hands. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a compact arm action with a high ¾ slot.
