At 5'9" 160 lbs. Corrales isn't the biggest guy out on the field, but he made his impact felt in a big way for the Bucs last Thursday in a doubleheader matchup against Live Oak and Flowermound. The uncommitted southpaw got the start against the Eagles, in what turned out to be a pitchers duel, and was super sharp. Corrales located his 81-86 mph FB extremely well to his arm-side and elevated at the right times to induce swings & misses. His SL was as sharp as we've ever seen it at 75-78 mph with late break down in the zone, and he also had his typical late-fading 72-75 mph CH that was used primarily against RHH's. He ended up earning the no-decision, but not for a lack of effort, as he tossed 8 innings and gave up only 2 H, 1 R, and 0 ER with 0 BB and 6 K's, on 86 pitches with 66 strikes to only 20 balls. As good as he was on the mound, he was equally as good at the plate, as he delivered a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 9th inning to seal Barbe's 2-1 win over Live Oak. Corrales added two more hits in the night cap against Flowermound to finish the day 3-7 at the plate with the HR, 3 RBI, and 3 R.
