Gray is a "QB1" on the gridiron in the fall for the Bucs and he also has the chance to have a bright future on the mound. The sophomore right-hander got the start last Friday against Parkview Baptist and with Barbe coming off of two ten-rule losses the day before, they really needed him to turn in a quality outing, and that's exactly what he did. He works through a slower build-up in his delivery and tilts his shoulders up, before bringing the ball down and up quickly out of his glove to release the ball from a 3/4-high 3/4 slot. On a cold afternoon, he worked his FB in the 80-84 mph range with some cutting action at times and showed good feel for spin with a 73-75 mph SL with spin rates up to 2732 RPM's. Gray tossed 6 innings and gave up only 4 H and 1 ER with 1 BB and 5 K's to earn his first win of the season.
