5'10" 155 lbs. lean and wiry frame. The Tulane recruit got the start for the Eagles in last Thursday's matchup against defending state champion Barbe, and was brilliant. Weller worked at a quick pace and wasted no time attacking hitters with a 83-87 mph FB that showed good ride and carry through the zone with spin rates of 2539 RPM's. He also showed the ability to land a 70-73 mph CB and 72-75 mph CH to both RHH's and LHH's for strikes and swing and miss. Weller ended up tossing 7 1/3 innings and gave up only 1 H, 1 R, and 0 ER with 4 BB and 3 K's.
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Former Jr. Future Gamer and recent Tulane commit
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds. Athletic and wiry
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there throughout a quick and deliberate delivery, strides on-line and finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Loose and whippy arm action, releases from a 3/4 slot
FB: T86.1, 84-86 mph. Good life on FB through the zone, commanded the pitch down in the zone to the glove side. T2392, 2305 average rpm.
CB: 74-74 mph. Near "12-6" in shape, has good feel for spin, can land for strikes or bury with two strikes T2263, 2263 average rpm.
SL: 73-75 mph. Sweeping SL with average break and depth T2291, 2039 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Keeps same arm stroke and has good feel for CH, can land to both RHH and LHH in any count T1593, 1503 average rpm.
Positional Profile: Corner IF
Body: Athletic, lean, and wiry 5�7� 125 lbs. frame with some room to add strength.
Hit: Starts in a balanced and athletic stance with hands held just below shoulder height. Simple load and stride, gets his foot down early. Stayed flat to the baseball with level extension. Ability to hit to all fields.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity.
Arm: High release with a short and whippy arm action. 84 mph IF velocity.
Defense: Played with good bounce and energy during INF play. Positioned body well to catch every good hop with soft hands. Moved well laterally and threw from different arm angles.
Run: Posted a 7.26 in the 60.
Positional Profile: RHP. Starter Profile.
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there throughout a deliberate and up-tempo delivery. Brings the ball down out of the glove and straight back up. High release with a short and whippy arm action. Stays on-line with hips and shoulders square to home plate.
Arm Action: High arm slot. Short and whippy arm action with some effort.
FB: 78-83 mph. 4 seam FB, average spin, some run at times.
CB: �12-6� in shape with above average spin at 69-71 mph. Tunneled well with FB.
CH: Straight CH at 72-73 mph. Quality 3rd offering.
Lanky 5-foot-5, 110-pound frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 69 mph. Started in a wide stance and had a toe tap. Displayed a level swing plane and had extension on his finish. In the infield, showed ability to throw up to 68 mph across the field; has a clean exchange and soft hands. Had a high slot with long arm action. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 8.15. On the mound, he showed a high angle and quick arm speed. He is a up-tempo type pitcher. Has a strong balance point with in line shoulders. His fastball was 68-70 mph. Throws a 1/7 curveball (62-64) that shows some control.
