6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed hitting corner guy and right-handed pitcher. I love this guys game, he can do both and thrive in my opinion. Threw 84 mph across the diamond with ease and accuracy. The feet are average so moving to first base may be imperative in college. Ran a 4.56 on his dig to first. The glove is solid and his hands are soft. The bat has life, tee exit velocity of 85 mph. Sets up with his feet even and an even handed start. The path is flat to and through the ball. The ball comes off the bat aggressively. The bat has a chance to be a middle of the order type swing as the power is the last thing to develop. On the mound, pitches out of a higher than ¾ slot, with a clean arm swing. The leg lift is repeated and he makes his way to the plate. Small amount of crossfire to his feet. The fastball touched 86 mph, the spin pitch was 70 mph. The changeup is a plus pitch for me, sitting at 71 mph. This guy is an interesting prospect that deserves some serious consideration.
Tee Exit Velocity - 85 mph
INF Velocity- 84 mph
6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed pitcher from the Antonelli Baseball program. The delivery is repeated, and on-line with the feet. There is effort in the delivery as the head moves slightly as he makes his way to the plate. The tracking of the shoulders needs to improve, which in turn, will help extension. The arm is clean and works well. Pitches out of a slightly above ¾ slot. Fastball touched 86 mph with run. The breaking ball sits at 71 mph with good shape. The slider is up to 73 mph. The changeup is a good one, sitting at 70 mph. Good follow on the mound, the changeup is already an out pitch.
9/25/16
On the mound, profiles as an arm strength reliever with an out pitch. The fastball touched 82 mph with small arm-side run to it. The spin pitch is coming along, sitting at 67 mph and the correct shape to it. The changeup is above average and is an out pitch at the next level, sitting at 68-70 mph. The delivery is repeated, slot is slightly higher than 3/4. The lift is athletic with a small coil at the top. The direction to home can be improved as with most kids his age. Positionally, worked out at third base, throwing 81 mph across the diamond with ease and accuracy. The glove is solid and the prep steps need to improve to help him get off the ball. Ran a 4.77 down the line on his dig to first base. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 86 mph. The frame is big and strong. Starts the swing with his feet wide, hands relaxed and short path to the ball. Power potential at the plate, bottom half of the swing staying under control throughout. Good looking prospect.
7/27/16
6-foot-2, 200-pound, thick, wide, durable pitchers frame, has room to still add to the frame and potentially to get stronger. On the mound, this right-hander works from a very easy and repeatable delivery. The hands start and stay at mid chest, they have rhythm and tempo to them and work in sync with his controlled leg raise. The arm action is a little longer on the back, it's clean however it's a down to up path. The ball comes out of a ¾ slot, fastball was pounded to the glove side at 80-83 mph. The change was his second best pitch, thrown for strikes with good spin and direction to it, clocked at 69-72 mph. The breaking ball was clocked at 68-71 mph. Times to the plate were good at 1.25. The head pulls off at times, could stay on it a little longer would give everything a little more depth. Offensively, shows to have power potential, has lift and leverage in the swing. A right-handed hitter, slightly open with loose hands, stride is minimal and the lower half under control. The path is level, through the zone, finishes early with a two-handed finish, could stay through it longer. The tee exit velocity was 86 mph, it’s powerful. Defensively, plays the hot corner, has good flow with his feet when attacking the baseball. The feet moved well during transfer, could be slightly quicker. The arm was clocked at 81 mph, showed life and carry across the diamond. Projects for me off the mound, should be an easy mid-80’s guy next year at this time, with feel for the secondary pitches, good follow.
