Declan Wilkes: C/RHP, (2025) Buckingham Browne & Nichols, MA. 5-foot-8, 165-pound athletic lean build. Projectable and athletic in the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 90 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was developing quick, displays a loose simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Produced loud contact and found lots of barrels. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Behind the plate, had developing athletic footwork, developing soft hands, and a natural transfer. Had a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base. Projectable on the mound, showing developing arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle and a loose consistent arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Has a consistent balance point and in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 84-85 mph; had running sinking action and arm side control. (Max spin 2456; Avg 2329). Had tight late action and glove side control on his sharp slider (73-74). (Max spin 2724; Avg 2671).

5-foot-4, 125-pound right-handed hitting catcher and infielder. The skill set behind the dish is still developing, as he threw 70 mph down to second base with a 2.4 pop time. The transfer will quicken as he matures and grows into his body. He shows good arm strength. The receiving can keep developing through reps and confidence. The approach in the infield needs the addition of prep steps allowing him to work his feet through the baseball. He threw 70 mph across the diamond as well, showing a clean arm. The bat has an exit velocity of 69 mph. The setup is wide in base and he uses a small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is long to contact, and will shorten as he matures. The hands work freely. On the mound, the fastball was 68-69 mph. The spin pitch was solid, 65-69 mph. The changeup is a developing pitch for him. The delivery is online and the slot is 3/4. The action is repeated and the arm works. The stride leg and foot needs to be closed longer through leg drive but outside of that he should be a good one on the mound. He showed feel and we will follow him on the bump.
