Begins in a balanced open stance with a controlled load, then uses a closed small stride. Bat speed is quick developing, displays a loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with loud contacts. Gap to gap aggressive approach.
Hugh Bolinger: RHP/SS, (2027) Brookline, MA. 5-foot-4, 130-pound lean athletic build. Athletic and capable in the box, Bolinger recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. (68.6 mph bat speed average). (21.3 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced open stance with a handsy controlled load, then used a small closed stride. Had quick bat speed, loose swing plane and level finish. He barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Capable In the infield, had athletic developing footwork, a natural exchange, and developing soft hands. Laterally, movements were developing athletically and fielded the ball out front. Clocked a 60 time of 7.96 at the event. (Max spin ; Avg ).
Bolinger is a right-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a wide, athletic stance. The hands are relaxed just off the back shoulder. The bat takes a quick, flat path through the hitting zone, producing a lot of solid contact during his round. Defensively, Bolinger showed athletic actions in the infield. The hands are soft. His feet are athletic and he moves well laterally. On the mound, he uses a simple delivery. He gets to his balance point well, before heading down the mound in line with home plate. The arm works out of a higher ¾ slot, producing good arm side run on a fastball that sits 67-68 MPH. Bolinger also mixed in a breaking ball with good spin. He also recorded a vertical jump of 54 cm.Â
