Athletic middle infielder who showed the ability to be an above average defender. The glove is above average, the ability to throw and handle the pivot are done extremely well. Threw 79 mph across the diamond with ease. The approach to the ground ball has been well taught. Ran a 4.31 down the line on a dig. The bat needs strength to it, and he needs to stay on the ball with his front half. Pulling off the ball is hurting his swing. Sets up even footed and even hands. The bat plane is in and out of the strike zone too quickly, lessening his plate coverage. Flattening out his path is a must, and getting physically stronger will help that. The hands work fine, just needs some small adjustments. Tee exit velocity of 80 mph. I like him as a high level defender.
10/11/15
A two-way guy, the body is long and loose, with tons of room to fill out. At the plate, hits from a wide open stance, the hands are set just above the shoulders the bat is in a good hitting position. Has a double toe tap for timing purposes, the path is good and keeps the barrel in the zone a long time. The tee exit velocity was 79 with more in there, just needs some strength. Down the line was 4.4, showed good legs with a good kick. Worked out at shortstop and showed solid hands and good flow through the ball. The transfer, arm path are short and quick, no wasted movement, arm across the diamond was 79 with easy life to it. Off the bump, comes at you from a ¾ slot, with heavy sink, lives at the knees. Delivery is simple, is a short strider, leg raise could be a bit higher. Fastball was 74-76 and came out of his hand with ease. The curveball was 66-67 with good spin, as he gets stronger should turn into a serious out pitch. Once he refines the delivery and gains more innings, things should take off, upside is big, good looking player.
