The swing is short and direct to the baseball, bodes well for handling good velocity in the future. The foot speed needs to continue to improve as he matures in age. The glove is soft and he shows the ability to handle the leather. The arm is clean, needs to continue to grow in strength. Good looking left-handed hitting prospect. Good follow for colleges, as he matures.
Mike O'Keefe: 3B/SS, (2027) Xaverian Brothers, MA. 5-foot-7, 170-pound athletic lean frame. Projectable and above average at the plate, O'keefe clocked an exit velocity of 85 mph. (66.1 mph bat speed average). (20.5 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then used a small stride. Bat speed is quick, exhibits a loose simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. He created loud contact and found some barrels. Aggressive approach. Projectable and capable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 71 mph; shows athletic developing feet, a clean natural exchange, and developing soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. From a high ¾ slot, showed consistent accuracy to the base with a loose arm action.
