2/22/25
5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed pitcher and right-handed hitting outfielder. On the mound, the fastball sat 75-76 mph with arm side run to it. The spin pitch was a breaking ball, 64-66 mph and big in shape. The changeup is 65-67 mph and still developing. The delivery is methodical in tempo and he stays with his arm. The arm is short in path and he showed command of the ball. The bat has an exit velocity of 83 mph. The setup is narrow in base and the path is uphill to contact. The approach in the outfield is under control and appropriate, throwing 80 mph during that portion of the workout.

Nicholas DeRosa: OF/RHP, (2027) Framingham, MA. 5-foot-7, 140-pound lean frame. Projectable and athletic during batting practice, Derosa recorded an exit velocity of 77 mph. (58.1 mph bat speed average). (17.4 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced open stance with a controlled load, then uses a closed small leg kick. Bat speed was developing, had a short loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Through the round he found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Line drive approach. Projectable from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 74 mph; had a clean exchange, developing soft hands, and developing footwork. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.78.  (Max spin ; Avg ).

12/11/22

Nicholas DeRosa: OF/RHP, (2027) Framingham High School, MA. 5-foot-7, 125-pound lean athletic build. Capable and athletic during batting practice, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 74 mph. (56.0 mph bat speed average). (14.1 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced open stance with a small load, then used a closed stride. Bat speed was developing, displayed a loose simple swing plane and level finish. He found some barrels with loud contact. Line drive approach. Projectable and athletic in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 74 mph; showed a clean natural exchange, developing consistent hands, and athletic developing feet. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. Projectable on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle and a consistent arm action while showing developing arm speed. Feel type pitcher and used some effort. Balance point is tall with  in- line shoulders during delivery. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 68-71 mph; showed running action and command arm side around the zone. (Max spin 1654; Avg 1531). His curveball (58-61) showed glove side command and sweeping action. (Max spin 1999; Avg 1903).

12/15/19

The 4-foot-6, 75 pound right-handed hitting infielder had a tee exit velocity of 52 mph.  The stance is narrow, with the hands set high off the back shoulder.  The load is short, with the stride landing closed.  The bat takes a flat path to and through contact.

Defensively, I like the fundamentals.  For such a young guy, he gets into a good fielding position.  He showed a clean arm swing and was 51 mph across the infield.

Off the mound, he showed well.  The delivery was simple and demonstrated good fundamentals.  He stayed over the backside and under control as he worked down the mound.  The arm works and he was 51-53 mph with the fastball.

I like the fundamentals of this young guy.  I think as he continues to play and develop, he has a chance to be a good one!
