Maryland Top Prospect Games West
Body: 6’0’’, 175 pounds. Strong, athletic, projectable frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a tall, slightly open stance at the plate with a knee-to-knee toe-tap load. Creates some hand separation and stays short to the ball with a level swing path. Generates quick bat speed through the zone with extension through contact, some lower half involvement and a two-handed finish. Strong middle of the field line drive approach.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Gap-to-gap pop present.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a mid to high three-quarter slot. Ball showed carry across the diamond.
Defense: Plays through the ball in the infield beating the ball to the spot. Fields it out in front in a slightly upright position. Clean exchanges and gains ground on throws. Showed the ability to throw from other slots as determined by the type of play.
Run: 7.66 60-yard time.
Delivery: Pitches from the stretch with a high leg kick into a tall balance position with hands set at head level. Controlled, long, smooth stride down the mound with strong lower half drive off the rubber. Lands in-line with home plate and gets over the front side with extension and a full, athletic finish.
Arm Action: RH. Clean hand separation and long arm action with uphill shoulder tilt. Throws from a high three-quarter slot with light effort and creates quick arm speed through release.
FB: T85 mph, 80-84 mph. Average spin rate of 2035 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 68-71 mph. 11/5 shape with an average spin rate of 1971 rpm per TrackMan.
CH: 74-76 mph. Showed slight fade.
