Physical: Projectable 5-foot-10, 180lb frame with even proportions and athleticism available. 7.27 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, simple attack with the hands starting low at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride with weight shift on time through the launch (flat path, low/deep finish). Feel for the hands/barrel with a consistent line drive approach over the LCF side of the field (38% line drive rate per Trackman). Added an impressive 24 mph hand speed translating to ready 71+ mph bat-speed, pointing towards the ability to handle some velocity in-game too. Posted an 87 mph bat-exit velocity with developing doubles power at the plate during his batting practice round.
Defensively: The primary backstop received from a low, left knee down setup with a soft glove hand at the catch point; quick, directional footwork in catch/throw phase with a ready trigger from a high ¾ slot, simple but effective mechanics working on the bag with consistency T72 mph from the crouch. Found success covering either side of the plate on blocks with downward chest angles/soft walls allowing for recovery.
