Body: 5’11’’, 195 pounds. Strong, physical body type.
Hit: Switch. Hits from a balanced, upright, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth knee to knee back load with a medium sized leg kick and longer stride. Solid hand separation and stays behind the ball well with strong hip rotation. Quick hands and bat speed through the zone with solid extension through contact. Swing tends to get long at times with strong lower half involvement. Middle to pull side approach, finishing strong with two hands. Ball comes off the bat well with gap-to-gap tendencies.
Power: 93 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Pull side pop present.
Arm: LH. INF - 71 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a mid to high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Surrounds the ball well with active feet. Fields the ball out in front, funneling to the belt with quick, clean exchanges. Showed some range side to side with momentum towards the target.
Run: 8.20 60-yard time.
Delivery: Controlled side-step wind-up and leg kick to a compact balance point. Drop and drive style delivery. Long stride down the mound landing in-line with the plate. Gets down hard over the front side with extension through release. Complete follow through and athletic finish with a tendency to fall slightly off to the third base side at times.
Arm Action: LH. Throws with a deceptive full arm circle from a high three-quarter slot with low effort. Creates some arm speed through release.
FB: T79 mph, 75-79 mph. Occasional cut with an average spin rate of 2092 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 68-70 mph. Showed more 2/8 shape with an average spin rate of 2362 rpm per TrackMan.
CH: 70-72 mph.
MD MoCo Fall Review
Solid body type and 5’11’’, 195 pound frame. Pitches from the stretch with a high leg kick into a compact balance point. Glides down the mound with strong lower half drive and lands square to the plate, falling off slightly to the third base side. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot with regular effort. Creates quick arm speed through release with good extension. Fastball has plus cut to it at 72-74 mph, touching 75 mph. Breaking ball showed some short, hard 1/7 break at 66-69 mph and change-up sat 70-72 mph.
