Maxwell Hayward: 2B/RHP, (2027) Cape Elizabeth, ME. 5-foot-7, 140-pound slim build. Capable during batting practice, Hayward recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph. (61.9 mph bat speed average). (20.7 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced open stance with a small load, then uses a closed small stride. Bat speed is developing, uses a loose short swing plane and good extension on his finish. Was able to create some loud contact and found some barrels. Base hit approach. Capable and athletic in the infield, displayed a velocity of 71 mph; had a clean natural exchange, soft developing hands, and developing athletic footwork. Fielded the ball out front with developing movement laterally. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Capable on the mound, showed a consistent arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with developing arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Displays in line shoulders and a consistent balance point. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 67-69 mph; had running action and arm side control. (Max spin 1819; Avg 1704). Has glove side command and sweeping action on his curveball (53-55). (Max spin 1596; Avg 1518).
Maxwell Hayward: 2B/SS, (2027) out of Cape Elizabeth, ME. is a 5-foot-3, 120-pound two-way prospect. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 76 mph with a (55.8 mph bat speed average) and (14.5 mph hand speed average). Hayward starts in a balanced, athletic stance with the hands relaxed just off the back shoulder. He then uses a short stride to start a simple, flat swing. He stays on plane and showed a gap to gap approach during his batting practice.
