5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting corner infielder and pitcher. The skill set at the hot corner is solid, throwing 82 mph across the diamond. The glove is solid and he moves well through the fielding of the baseball. The bat had an exit velocity of 96 mph. The setup at the dish was even in base and the front foot gains ground as the swing is produced. The path to the baseball is downhill. The hands work freely. On the mound, the fastball showed good life, sitting 84-85 mph. The control of the fastball needs to improve as he matures in age. The spin pitch was 70-72 mph with depth. The changeup is a work in progress.
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed pitcher and right-handed hitting middle infielder. He ran a 7.13 sixty at the event. The approach in the infield is athletic and online. He works through the baseball and the glove is reliable. He threw 81 mph across the infield with long whippy arm action. The bat has an exit velocity of 88 mph. The setup is wide in base and the front foot gains ground as the ball enters the hitting zone. The hands work freely, as he gets stronger, he should be able to shorten the bat path. On the mound, he showed very well. The delivery is quick in tempo and he has a good feel for repeating the delivery . The arm is clean and 3/4 in slot. The fastball sat 81-82 mph with arm side run to it. The spin pitch is big in shape, sitting 62-64 mph. The changeup is a developing pitch, sitting 68-71 mph. He is a good looking young player.
Trent Holst: RHP/SS, (2027) Leavitt, ME. 5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic lean frame. Projectable and athletic during batting practice, Holst had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. (70.1 mph bat speed average). (21.5 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a controlled handsy load, then used a toe tap stride. Has developing, quick bat speed, loose simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Athletic projectable while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 78 mph; showed athletic developing feet, developing soft hands, and a natural exchange. Movements laterally were developing athletically and he fields the ball out front. Used a ¾ slot with a quick arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Clocked a 60 time of 7.2 at the event. Projectable above average on the mound, showed developing above average arm speed with a ¾ arm angle and a loose quick arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Has a consistent balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 84-85 mph; has running sinking action and command arm side around the zone. (Max spin 1985; Avg 1902). Had arm side command and gradual fading action on his changeup (77-78). Has slurvey action and glove side around the zone command on his slider (68-69). (Max spin 2133; Avg 2053).
Trent Holst: RHP/SS, (2027) Leavitt, ME. 5-foot-10, 145-pound athletic lean build. Projectable and athletic at the plate, Holst's best exit velocity was 87 mph. (67.0 mph bat speed average). (22.3 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced tall stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is developing, uses an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He created loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Athletic and projectable while in the infield, made throws up to 77 mph; shows athletic developing feet, developing hands, and a natural exchange. Fielded the ball out front with developing athletic movement laterally. Showed a loose arm action with consistent accuracy to the base. Recorded a time of 7.44 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable athletic on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose consistent arm action while showing developing quick arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Tall balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 79-80 mph; showed command arm side around the zone and running sinking action. (Max spin 2099; Avg 1957). His curveball (62-63) shows sweeping action and glove side around the zone control. (Max spin 2038; Avg 2038). His changeup (70-71) had gradual fading action and arm side command.
