5-foot-10, 155 pound prospect used a calm approach doing  quick stutter step right before fielding the ball out front and using a crow hop from the outfield throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. Behind the plate works fast receiving the ball with one hand getting rid of the ball quickly. Hands of a middle infielder. At the plate uses a wide stance with his bat right above his shoulder. As the ball approaches takes a stride towards the pitcher swinging on a level plane with two hands. Sometimes swings down on the baseball.

Cortez has a 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame. He uses a short stride with a handsy swing. He reaches the barrel out towards the ball and stays through the ball well. His exit velocity was 76 mph and he ran a 4.59 home-to-1st. In the outfield, he takes good angles to the ball and works his lower half through the ball. His position velocity was 73 mph.

Cortez has a 5-foot-9, 135-pound build. He hits from a wide stance and with bend in his knees. He gets a good load onto his backside with his rhythm. He keeps the barrel through the hitting zone and finishes his compact swing with two hands. His exit velocity was up to 72 mph and his 60-yard dash was clocked at 7.98. In the outfield, he stays behind the ball and works through it well with his throws. His position velocity was up to 72 mph.
