Brendan Alvord: RHP/3B, (2021) Fenton, MI. Eastern Michigan Commit, 6-foot-2, 212-pound. On the mound, sat with his fastball at 87-89 mph with a max of 90 mph. Curveball (69-70 mph), changeup (79-80 mph), slider (79-80 mph).

FB: T90. 87-89 mph. (Max spin 2109;  Avg 2061). 

CB: 69-70 mph. 

CH: 79-80 mph. 

SL: 79-80 mph. 

Pitching: On the mound showed very good mound presence. Repeats his motion each time throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. On e of the more polished arms on the day. Fastball sat 80-82 mph while working the corners. 73-75 tight spinning curve. Cruised during his time on the mound. Advanced feel for the curve. 

Mechanics: Steps left, pivoting while showing a slight pause at his balance point kicking his leg out and throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. 
Fastball: Easy out his hand while showing good arm side run. Sat 82-84 mph . 
Curve: Sweeping action on the curve with an early break down in the zone 67-68 mph. 
Change up:  Slows arm on the straight feel change up 71 mph. 
Slider: Harder feel to the pitch that showed a late cut action 72-74 mph. 

6-foot, 170 pound prospect has a projectable frame with long legs and a high waist. Has a loose arm action, throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. Ball comes out the hand easy with good arm whip. Fastball sat 80-82 mph low in the strike zone. Change up was thrown with similar arm speed as his fastball 71-72 mph. Curve was 62-64 mph breaking at an 12/6 angle.

On the mound the right-hander features a slower paced delivery that requires some effort. Arm action is long and mostly clean as it travels through a near over the top slot. Ball comes out well, sitting 80-82 mph. Expect more velocity as he adds strength. Varies armspeed on his changeup, giving it a wide range in velocity at 70-74 mph.  The pitch will show regular run/dive. Also tosses a 12/6 breaking ball that show potential to be an above average offering down the road. At 63-64 mph the spinner has present sharpness and should develop depth as velocity increases. A young, talented arm to follow. At the plate the righty starts in a balanced stance. Hands stay simple, launching the barrel from a vertical setup. Swing shows whip with some strength to hands at contact. A contact type now with flashes of gap abilities. In the infield he moves light on his feet, showing a quicker first step. Fields the ball from heels out in front of his body on plays in his funnel. Moves well laterally with more athletic actions on the move.
