Nelson is a long 6-foot-3, 163 pound two-way prospect. Takes a couple bounce steps to gain rhythm, fields the ball deep and brings it into his body smoothly. Has good athleticism that plays while in the field. At the plate sets up with a calm approach using a bat wrap technique. As the pitch approaches has a knee knock load and swing. As his body fills out, added power will come. On the mound takes a step to the left and locks down prior to arriving to his picture perfect balance point.
