10/27/12 The 6-foo, 190-pound Akin was 86-88mph with his fastball with a fast and loose arm. He showed good downward action with some run. His arm works extremely well and projects to add some velocity down the road. Akin does need to work on his secondary pitches. He is a good candidate to add a slider or a cutter to offset his breaking ball at 65-66 mph.
