2021 3B Stephen Kwapis continued his hot pace at the plate this weekend. Entering Saturday as the lead off hitter, he smoked the third pitch of the game over the left field fence. He followed that up with an RBI double down the left field line and finished the day 2-for-3.
Hitting: At the plate has a tall stance with big time power. Absolutely crushed the ball hitting multiple balls 375 ft plus. Hands get through the zone quickly with authority. Top hand release, with a feel for the barrel. During game play crushed a double off the 390 ft wall in center field.
Swing: Balanced approach at the plate with elevated hands. Uses a front leg lift and aggressive swing. Has a top hand release driving the ball to the pull side. 92 mph exit velocity with wood.
Fielding: Very agile around the 3B area moves light on his feet with soft hands. Shows a quick release in the field.
6-foot, 205 compact built prospect on the mound steps left moving to his balance point throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. Fastball came out his hand rather easy sitting 73-75 mph. Throws with a short quick arm action. 11/5 breaking curve 63-65 mph he was extremely comfortable throwing in various locations. Developing change up low in the zone 65-67 mph.
