Ty Uchman: LHP/1B, (2023) Grand Rapids Christian, MI. 6-foot-2, 185-pound. Solid raw at the plate, Uchman was ranked 2nd with an exit velocity of 99 mph. (71.2 mph bat speed average). (22.6 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced stance with a controlled active load, then used a controlled big leg kick. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 83 mph; has sure hands, a clean exchange, and in control average feet. Solid raw in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 87 mph; had sure hands, a clean exchange, and smooth consistent footwork. Ty Uchman: LHP/1B, (2023) Forest Hills Northern, MI. 6-foot-1, 160-pound. In the box, Uchman clocked an exit velocity of 87 mph. From the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 79 mph. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.57. On the mound, threw his fastball 75-78 mph and topped out at 80 mph. Curveball (61-65 mph).
Pitching: A tall athletic LHP shows easy arm action while mixing up his pitches. Showed the ability to throw multiple pitches for strikes. Pitches backwards throwing his curve first to set up his fastball. Sweeping action on the breaking ball keeping hitters off balance.
Pitching: On the mound takes a wide step left moving to his balance point letter height while looking down. Explodes out the balance point throwing with a long arm action. Fastball sat 77-79 mph with arm side run. Change was down in the zone with good arm deception 70-71 mph. 66-68 mph sweeping curve that has a big break. High follow on the hill.
Fielding: Clean actions in the outfield working towards the ball. Fields out front throwing with a fast arm.
Hitting: At the plate sets up with a narrow stance on the left side. Small hand motion during the load with a small leg lift. Quick swing path gets through the zone swiftly. Shows some pop off the bat making hard contact.
